AIMS Schools and Bullybusters launch Anti-Bullying Month: Choose Respect

November 1, 2024

This November, Local Solutions’ teams, AIMS Schools and Bullybusters, are joining forces to host Anti-Bullying Month across Liverpool, Knowsley and Sefton.

While Anti-Bullying Week is a national campaign celebrated from 11th to 15th November, we’re extending the initiative across the entire month to amplify its impact and engage even more young people, families, and schools.

Theme: Choose Respect

The theme for this year is Choose Respect, encouraging everyone to recognise the value of treating others with kindness and understanding. Respect is a choice we can make every day, and by doing so, we create environments where everyone feels safe, valued, and included.

Why Anti-Bullying Month?

Bullying can have long-lasting effects on mental health, self-esteem, and wellbeing. By extending the campaign, we aim to:

  • Provide more opportunities for learning and discussion
  • Offer ongoing support and practical tools to prevent bullying
  • Celebrate positive behaviour and the power of respect

What to Expect

Throughout November, AIMS Schools and Bullybusters will be delivering a variety of activities, including:

  • Workshops and Assemblies: Interactive sessions exploring bullying, its effects, and strategies for standing up against it.
  • Training for Parents and Staff: Practical guidance on recognising and addressing bullying, both in and out of school.
  • Kindness Challenges: Encouraging students to commit to acts of kindness and respect.
  • Social Media Awareness Campaigns: Sharing tips, stories, and resources to promote respectful behaviour online and offline.

Get Involved

We’re calling on schools, students, families and the wider community to join us in choosing respect this month. Whether it’s attending a workshop, taking part in our kindness challenges, or simply starting a conversation, every action helps to make a difference.

Let’s work together to build a culture of respect and understanding that lasts well beyond November.
